Webster defines 'idyllic' as pleasing and simple: pastoral or picturesque.
That's what I look for in a scene that inspires me to paint it.
Sadly it's a definition that applies less each year.
On an October afternoon, in the Adel area of Owen County,
I found this small farm scene to be idyllic with no sights or sounds of a fast-paced world.
The only other structures in sight were a single room
church with outhouses–still in use.
