Resting Pintails

A favorite place for waterfowl enthusiasts, like myself,
to see unusual migratory birds is Stillwater Marsh just northeast of Lake Monroe.
Managed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources
it is an important feeding and resting area along the migration route
of many species of waterfowl. The most elegant of North American waterfowl,
Pintails nest all across Canada and the northwestern United States.

This acrylic painting placed in the top ten of the prestigious
Federal Duck Stamp Competition
sponsored annually by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
