Wild Daffodils
On a ridge overlooking the Rattlesnake Creek bottoms, west of Spencer,
there remains only a few loose stones from the foundation of a dwelling of over
a hundred years ago. While it has been reclaimed by nature the daffodils
that once enhanced it have proliferated by the thousands to cover the entire hillside.
When in full bloom in early spring they are a breathtaking contrast against the still gray
Indiana landscape as painted here in late March, 2000.
